Synopsis Reporter Jude Redfield needs the story of his life to break the monotony of existence at the local paper, and that story may be coming his way ... A series of mysterious messages leads him to The Storyteller, a semi-mythic figure who wants Jude to take over from him. However something is trying to prevent this from happening and Jude's girlfriend Cora is kidnapped by the hideous Nitterkin. Jude must descend into the bowels of London to try and rescue her ... Comment A superb and imaginative finale to the first season. Thirteen draws together many of the elements of previous stories, and even features a returning character, and presents a story of love lost against a backdrop of ancient evil and power. Fascinating ideas are at play here, and suddenly Urban Gothic looks less like a wannabe Twilight Zone and is catapaulted into a realm of its own.
