Calling All Radio Amateurs - MOCARS needs you!

One of the most exciting aspects of having our own base is that we can now run a permanent radio station. For a long time, we dreamt of having our own amateur radio station - now it actually exists!

Thanks to the efforts of MoC member Andrew Dailey GM0REZ, The Museum of Communication Amateur Radio Society (or ‘MOCARS’)  has a constitution and a callsign,  MM0 MOC

MOCARS aims to get on the air using some of the fairly modern equipment in the Museum collection -like the Yaesu FT-102, FC-102 and Kenwood 2300 - covering CW, SSB and FM. The eventual goal is to get back into service some of our 1940s and 50s vintage equipment, including classics such as the AR88, 1154/55, HROs, Eddystone as well as standing-wave ratio meters, Morse keys and various military/naval/air force sets.

If you’d like to swell the numbers, please contact Andrew Daley (Secretary) at 82 Don Drive, Livingston EH54 5LP, by e-mail to andrewdailey82@hotmail.com or call 01506 442539.

If you’re a licenced amateur and a Foundation member, you can contact Andrew for automatic membership of MOCARS.

Hope to hear from you soon. 73s
