Flumphaderries, Flanganans
and the Real Book of Bennachie is Deborah's first children's
novel. Following the success of this novel Deborah has published
Doric - Alive an Kickin: a collection
of short stories.
The married mother of two lives and works in Inverurie,
Aberdeenshire, where she tutors Creative Writing classes. Many of
her short stories have been published in national magazines and
she also writes in 'Doric' the local dialect of the North-east of
Scotland. Some of Deborah's Doric writing has been published in
the North-east's Leopard magazine, and in May 2003 she won 1st prize
in the Senior Doric Short Story category of the North-east's annual
Strichen Heritage Festival. In May 2004 Deborah retained her trophy.
