Tall Tales and Bawdy Ballads...
Debs tells both traditional and original tales anywhere people will listen.
She can work her magic on stages big and small, in classrooms, tearooms and assembly rooms, in local parks and on windswept heaths.
Let her interpret your space with a spellbinding story walk, warm your cockles with a folk tale over a mug of beer or captivate a festival audience – even if it's raining.
In addition to her large repertoire of traditional folk tales, Debs also writes stories and storytelling shows for adult and family audiences:
-
The Wrekin Cycle is a rip-roaring, sing-songing, spellbinding show containing traditional song and stories together with Debs' tales from her narrowboat Little More.
-
In September 2008 Debs became an artist-in-residence at Cecil Sharp House, where, amongst other things, she will be working on the creation of a new storytelling show based on the stories of Irish immigrants who came to live in the UK in the 1950s.
Debs has a deep knowledge of native plant and tree folklore. She has created enthralling story telling walks for Hampstead Heath, BTCV, RSPB and the Highgate Festival, among others.
