Who was Ukulele Joe?
His name was Joe Ward and he was an Australian entertainer from Perth. Started as a professional singing and playing Banjo and Banjo Ukulele accompaniment in the early 1950's.
He owned some beautifully customised instruments each fitted with a pickup - shown here are the Dallas and the Ludwig Wendell Hall
