| Hello
Dennis
I´ve been visiting your Banjo Ukulele page numerous times. Now it´s time for me to supply some photos that may or may not be of interest to you: The Bacon : belongs to Bill Denver, has a whistle attached to its top, very heavy. There is a story about the type of inlays on this one, I’ll try to find it and send it to you. I believe it was a Turk working for the company that wanted to put his mark on some instruments. Stay tuned! |

Cartwright:
owned by Mike Coulson. |
John Grey: a beginner’s instrument, but not too bad really. |
||
| Lange:
this is a very unusual one, owned by a Danish entertainer. The photo
unfortunately didn’t come out the way I hoped, but you can see some of
the extraordinary inlay work on the back of the resonator, ships
and what have you. Action much too high for my liking, didn´t really
sound like a banjo-uke.

| Smeck: A
top of the range Roy Smeck Professional in excellent condition. Very
light and easy to play with a clear bright sound.
Spiers : On the right belongs to yours truly. Made in late 1986 just before Mr. Spiers decided to quit making these machines. Inlays made to look like a Ludwig, very lightweight and sounds great when tuned to Eb. Hopeless in C tuning! Very low action.Jonas Thanks to Jonas for the information and the nice photographs - DT
