Money
Matters |

|
Giving money through the church towards God’s work locally, nationally and internationally is one expression of our stewardship of everything God has given us in terms of time, talents and financial resources. It should be part of our response to all that God has done for us in Jesus Christ. Therefore, we are not ashamed of asking those who are committed to Dewsbury Baptist Church to take the giving seriously. |

Each year the church sets a budget target which has to be met almost totally from the giving through the weekly offerings. We are self sufficient, we do not receive income or grants from a central source. Our giving has to cover not only the work of the church here but also supports God’s work elsewhere. | |||||||||
| But
how do you go about it?
There is an envelope scheme whereby, each week you make an anonymous offering by placing it into an envelope assigned to that particular week. This helps to assist systematic and planned giving. |

| We believe that Christian giving should not be a duty or chore but an act of worship. Nevertheless, it should be regular, disciplined, systematic and planned. | ![]() |

If
you give regularly and you pay income tax, you can
make your gift go a lot further if you covenant. Put simply, covenanting
means that the Inland Revenue treats Dewsbury Baptist Church in the same
way as a charity. When someone gives a specified amount to Dewsbury
Baptist Church on a regular basis, the church is allowed to reclaim from
the Inland Revenue any tax that has been paid on that money by the donor.
