SPECIAL MEASURES

We've had a review of what we know over the last year or so and with hindsight it has become painfully obvious how the parents have been lied to about the inspection and its ramifications. We believe that the school has been, and still is, in Special Measures without telling the parents, which is probably illegal. This is just the beginning of sorting this out for us parents..
  1. The OFSTED was just the beginning. The report to parents was, just like the 2000 OFSTED report different to the on-line one and looked to have been altered, like for example removing the fact that the school was in Special Measures.
  2. The Action Plan which was supposed to be given to parents was not, although the Inspector said that there was an Action Plan.
  3. A Meeting was held to discuss this Action Plan but all questions were left unanswered and a decidedly uncomfortable Very Rev Surtees waffled on about something completely different.
  4. The Inspectors took more time to examine documentation from the school, like finance, health and safety reports etc, and after a few months they must have decided that something was definately not right. Although Tim was OK at the inspection, things came to light with deeper delving, and as you know Tim was suspended for "leadership and management issues" The Governors improperly, yet again chose not to inform the parents why Tim had left, and they got him out quietly because that's the way it works. Give him another job then he'll keep quiet.
  5. Mr. John Baker made his first tour of duty at the school, to sort out the Action Plan, to presumably solve the mass of paperwork  and financial problems  discovered in the school, followed by lots of specialist Interim Heads, some of whom have given us big clues about what is going on.
(a) money is not where it should be in the school and we don't know where it has gone. This ties up with the complete lack of statutory Finance   Reports for 3years, which the inspectors know about. We don't think this was entirely or mostly Tim's fault, but his predecessor BT whose Previous school Spring Common Huntingdon, is co-incidentally also in Special Measures at this moment!!!!!  Anyone smell a rat ? Head of Finance committee was never there and 'resigned' directly after the inspection. There is STILL no Head of Finance Committee and the committee itself doesn't seem to sit. This is OUTRAGEOUS
(b) Health and Safety Issues brought up by the parents have largely been ignored. The drinking water was finally installed after about a year of complaining that some children were drinking very unsafe tank water from roof tanks. etc. Parents complaints in many such areas were left unanswered
(c) Annual Reviews were not being done properly according to an interim Head
  1. Staff have left in droves (although we believe the teaching staff are not implicated in any of this and must find it very difficult and demoralising
  2. People in charge of Health and Safety have left quietly, Cathy Prop-Mooney, Mrs Rajcomar was Gov responsible but couldn't/didn't deal with it,     Katherine Jarvis did it for a while but decided to get out., now it will be Catherine Wall, the interim deputy from Chemlsford. We are concerned that she will be working with Anna H-P who is the new Community Gov ( because no-one from outside would take it on) and she is the new H& S Gov. We are disappointed because we don't trust her in view of her previous record.
  3. None of the Govs committees seem to be functioning or producing reports in spit of the Clerk to the Govs Mavis Hitchman  pleading with them, so she left, and Govs didn't even notice!!! Not a vote of thanks.. nothing. We are proud of Mavis . She was the first success of this website - dispensing with the dubious practise of in-house clerks.
  4. The Govs have organised  a coffee morning knowing very well most people couldn't attend, those that did couldn't communicate with each other as they were very closely supervised by Rosie Moore!! So the Govs can cynically tick the box about parents so called socialising. This is still of great concern, because the school is still effectively blocking out parent interaction (presumably to reduce spending on statements and continue manipulating individual, desparate parents in to doing what the LEA wants them to do) Like one parent who has recently been told that their child is going to Harlow College, inspite of having Harlowfields named on the Statement until the child is 19. Hopefully we can rectify this.
  5. Finally, a  BIG, BIG thanks to Steve Armstrong. We are disappointed  that he is not staying though we completely understand his wish to get out. He did apply for The HF Headship as we reported 2 months ago. Everything was set for him to do so, but something changed his mind and he has now obtained a job outside of Essex AFTER 18 Years as Head of Oakview!! Work that out folks.
In the last week of term he was heard telling The very Rev Surtees to GET OUT OF HIS HAIR OR HE WOULD LEAVE STRAIGHT AWAY
Well fortunately he didn't, but great that he likened the Rev to a LOUSE!!! He gets in everybody's hair!

SO SPECIAL MEASURES AND ACTION PLANS ARE GOING AHEAD FRANTICALLY. AND WHEN THIS IS OVER AT THE END OF THE SUMMER TERM??? THEN THE REAL FUN BEGINGS. WITHOUT PARENTAL CONSULTATION  - THE PARTITIONING OF THE SCHOOL AND THE SETTING UP OF AN EBD UNITBY PARTITIONING OFF OFF HALF OF THE SCHOOL
PARENTS - YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED

P.S The rest of the world will get to hear of the fraud of tampering with Ofsted Reports. We still want normal social interaction to be re-introduced into the school, and as soon as this happens, and a 'normal' Head is appointed this website will be removed.. It is time the Govs realised in the normal manner of things a Head is NOT SOMEONE TO MANIPULATE AND CONTROL!!. Keep communicating with me Parents.
