February 2008 Update
Thank you for all your communications again on the bruising incident.
At least you've all been forewarned to look for bruises on your chidren, just in case.
Apparently Sue Davies and Mary Rushe have been interviewed at the
police station, admitted what happened and given a formal warning.
What about Marion Pluckrose who did not give the photos to the correct authorities?
Doesn't she get a formal warning for not doing the correct thing with the photos?
She is reported as saying that she passed them to the Head Teacher (One of the accused!)
Is that totally stupid or just very wrong?
I don't suppose the Governors are going to take any action over the incident.
However good will hopefully come out of this as the school has to now
look very carefully at its Behaviour and Manual Handling Policies.
Let's be fair. If a child has to be restrained, it can be a difficult,
thankless task, but at the same time all staff have supposedly been
trained in doing it correctly which they obviously didn't here, to be
able to leave a footprint on his knee joint.
Glad to hear that there is a social evening run by the new PTA on
Friday 29th, which will involve a quiz and a dance, but what is
this about not bringing children?
So they are again fund raising for the school minibuses. We have always
wondered if these were cost effective, ie: cost of vehicle,
license, tax, and insurance.
Was it really necessary to point out that on the night there will be no
access to any other part of the building. That's just extra parent
bullying. Does it mean no one will be able to go to the toilet???
You know we would really like to not have to do this website, and
indeed we nearly gave up about six months ago. we thought if the new
Head was good, friendly and does her job well, and in particular has a
much better attitude to parents this website would not be needed. Sadly
the events of the last few months have proved me wrong. It doesn't mean
that we want the School Management to roll over and submit to all the parents' demands. They
have to keep what they think is their dignity. But why oh why can't
this management start behaving normally, with courteousy, compromise, humanity and common sense??
As long as there is a need for this website for the parents then we will continue, and at the moment there patently is.
Thought for the month. THE PARENT'S ROOM as it is called should be
the PARENTS' ROOM meaning more than one parent can have access at the
same time.
Nowthis room was sensibly created when the school was in 1999, and
parents were rather begrudginly allowed access, there were tea making
facilities and even biscuits and notice boards. This is what is
very strange. At some point someone has decided to stop parents using
the parents room, with excuses like we have meetings in it. Strange
because there must be plenty of rooms in the school now that pupil
numbers are falling (103?) However, notice nobody bothered to tell the
parents or explain this change to them. It is typical of the school's
arrogant approach and goes a long way to explain what is going on
BARRIERS UP - KEEP OUT, so nobody can see what is going on.
Finally a number of people have pointed out to me that you can no
longer access this website on Essex's Computers. DO we feel powerful or
what? On a par with the Chinese Government!
Still they all agreed this was totally stupid as they could access it at home.
Happy Easter. Webmaster
