Well we can't get it right all the time;
so Steve Armstrong is not going to be the new Head of HF, but we did
get the bit about him leaving Oakview right. Strangely he is leaving
Essex. I think he knows something we don't. "sinking ship rats leaving"
Well it did
produce an informative letter from the Very Reverend BS. So the deputy
Catherine Jarvis is also leaving. I find it hard to believe that the
Govs cannot find a permanent Head after so long. It certainly seems
after that first awful advert that they really didn't want to find
anyone, although I can't say I saw the purported second advert. However
I have seen the advert for the Headship of Oakview, and very normal,
friendly and inviting it was.
Us parents are
being severely let down by the Govs who inexplicably sack (to all
intents and purposes) the much liked, tried and tested Tim Miller and
spectacularly fail to replace him for well over a year now. These Govs
have much to answer for. Meanwhile the school lurches from one crisis
to another which is of great concern to both parents and staff.
"If you want to
visit the school then you should make an appointment" Jo Hodges
This instruction
to parents has caused much consternation among confused and angry
parents. Many of you on Int. Mess Serv. have been suggesting possible
reasons for this.
Don't come to the
school unannounced because
-
You might see
something you're not meant to
-
You might find out
that some pupils don't have a teacher
-
You might see the
PMLD's having Hydrotherapy in the Swimming Pool. This is
impossible and dangerous as these children easily get cold and pick up
infections
-
You might see staff
hitting children
-
You might see
children hitting children
-
You might find some
children unsupervised
-
You might see one of
many Health and Safety issues being ignored
-
You might find that
the office is frequently unmanned
-
You might see large
numbers of staff unable to exit the school
-
You might find out
that no one knows the current school exit code
-
Mostly you are
wondering what the school has to hide
Well this Jo Hodges statement has turned out to be such a brilliant
public relations exercise
If anyone was in
doubt as to the school's hostility to parents THEY AREN'T NOW!!!
Let's hope the
new Head if we ever get one, has better, more subtle PR skills.
