WELCOME

To Ms. Sue Davis, new superhead in September 2007

We really hope you will find a way to communicate with us body of parents in a mature, sensitive and positive way, which has not been the case for a such a long time.
We suspect you will be told to prevent us from meeting up by the L.E.A. We hope you will be your own person and rise above this. Any genuine attempt to do this wil result in this website closing down.

Minutes of the OPEN FORUM MEETING to be held Thurs. June 14th 5:00pm prompt, finished 6:30 very prompt.

5:00 comes and goes
5:10 Meeting calle to order by the Extremely Reverend Waffler Surtees.
5:15 Ms. Davis is introduced
5:20 Ms. Davis talks for 20 minutes (no questions permitted)
5:40 E.R.W Surtees explains the point of the Open Forum
6:00 A member of management tries to explain what a N.M.S.S. (New Model Special School) is.
6:20 Question Time - only one per family remember.
First Q. from a Mr. X, "How wonderful is the School?
ERWS "We  .. er.. have.. been .. er .. performing miracles.
Some deluded parents, "Praise be..."
Second Q. "Why has the School issued no financial reports for at least 3 years?"
ERWS "Sorry, time's up, but if you would like to leave your questions, we will have a bonfire later as usual. It is heartwarming to see the quality of questions we don't have to answer."

Some of the questions which should have been answered.

  1. Will pupils be based in mainstream schools?
  2. Will the remaining PMLDs and Autistic pupils be in class together, and is this dangerous?
  3. Will all pupils be taught all day by a qualified teacher or an L.S.A.?
  4. NMSS policy and vision is to have pupils until 25 years old. Why is HFS reducing pupil intake until 16 years old only? How can it then be a NMSS?
  5. Are E.B.D. (Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties) pupils taught within classes with other disorders? Is this wise, legal etc.?
  6. One of the main aims of NMSSis better parental involvement and partnership. How do you aim to include parents AS A GROUP. (not just individuals)?
  7. Can we have  Saturday Club? Held in the school, so parents / students can meet informally.
  8. Whe Social services / Health and other services combine to " provide a seamless service" can you assure us that it will not abuse it's position as it has in the past, by ganging up on families to get what the LEA wants?
  9. Why are the entrance / exit procedures on a level with prisons, unlike any other Essex Special School? E.B.D.s?
  10. Are ALL taps that source water from roof tanks, now absolutely safe so that no pupil can be poisoned?
  11. Why do Governors' Minutes note that parents/community may not like the School's plans? What are you not telling us?
  12. Why is the School being partitioned.

So Ms. Davis, what do you think of the so-called OPEN FORUM? A eye-opener? Are you going to get rid of that very Rev Surtees, because he's a liability.
Like previous interim heads and ass heads, you probably think you have landed on the plant Zog.
Did you know our M.P. - a junior Ed Minister, called Essex L.E.A. "The Taliban"?

Parent Teacher Association revamped.

Welcome to the new P.T.A. committee. A new broom and all that...
The last we heard OFSTED were scrutinising the PTA finances. So have the old guard, Cowdrey/Eastlake/Beaumont been forced to resign? If so, why are two of them still parent governors? Shouldn't they resign from that as well?
The new committee wants to meet other parents and says you won't necessarily be roped into money raising.
SO TRY IT, it is a chance to get to meet parents.

Still on the defensive.

It saddens me that the School is so defensive in many ways. Mention anything and they immediately think that their priority is to defend themselves. I know it's ingrained, but far better to be open and transparent. Even an apology doesn't cost anything. remember it should no longer be the "Barbara position" US & THEM. This is no way to run a school.

OPEN / CLOSED Forum Thursday June 14th 5:00 - 6:30pm

Even though it is likely to be a debacle, I recommend that you do your utmost to attend, in spite of the RIDICULOUSLY EARLY START. As usual designed to stop many parents getting there.
This is your big chance. The school has not invited parents to GET TOGETHER for years and years, lets make the most of it. The schools biggest fear is parents turning out and meeting each other even if there is bad / very bad news don't walk out. Stay and get together with other parents, this is what they don't want. They divide and rule. Let's stop them doing that. We won't be able to stop their plans but within it you may be able to have some say on what happens to your child.
Lastly, if the "Forum" in this closed door school pans out the way I suggested earlier perhaps you should read this website more carefully.
