NOTES

PURPOSE

This website aims to be a focus of interest for these fascinating locomotives.  Its purpose is to increase awareness of diesel-hydraulic locomotives.  Despite withdrawal from traffic of British Rail's diesel-hydraulic locomotives over a quarter of a century ago interest remains strong.  Emphasis is given to these former British Railways Western Region classes and former German Federal Railway classes.

These pages are dedicated to the people responsible for development and operation of the locomotives, the continuing efforts of the preservation movement and all those with a related interest.  This site was launched in early 2002 to mark the 25th anniversary of B.R.'s last diesel-hydraulics and the return of "Western Champion" to the main line.
