A New Outlook for Humans
A long time in contemplation
It is not what we have done but what we are going
to do that matters.
In humans there has evolved a sentient consciousness.
This is the universe awakening and it is up to us to ensure its survival
and evolution.
We live in a dangerous place, which is threatened with destruction by
the actions of asteroids, comets and solar flare activity, even if we
manage to survive these the sun, will eventually die.
We are living on a "Titanic" with no lifeboats.
It is time we started moving off this planet and into space and onto
other planets; the moon first Mars next and sending "Ark"
ships to the stars.
Man has evolved as much as it can on one planet, we must spread out
into the universe so that they can evolve in isolation from each other.
If we die out now, or the near future, then all this time has been for
nothing and our sentient consciousness will have failed.
Religion is a ball and chain keeping us in a prison of complacency;
be good die and go to heaven, be bad and go to hell. Belief in a god
is a waste of time and unconstuctive.
We must use our resourses in investigating the universe we live in and
learn to manipulate it possibly even escape its confines.
Who can say what the future holds, I don't, but we have to at least
try.
It is possible that the universe is so big that another
sentient consciousness may evolve but that is another story and it does
not excuse us from trying.
It is not the human species that is important but
the sentient consciousness and the insatiable curiosity, we could for
example edit our genome to give ourselves abilities to survive in environments
which would kill humans.
The universe is the biggest free lunch there is;
enjoy yourself while you can and do no other sentient being harm.
