“I wish they’d taught science like that when I was at school.”
This comment was made by an elderly audience member at a recent Make it Science show.

Not everybody learns in the same way. Here at Make it Science we endeavor to include as many teaching and learning styles as we can in our shows and workshops. Most shows include: drama, story telling, interactive demonstrations, open-ended questioning and creative thinking. All workshops involve a craft session. Everyone will come away with a better understanding of the topic that is covered.
We consider ourselves to be science evangelists, passing on or enthusiasm and love of the subject. We are happy to adapt our shows and workshops to fit any type of audience.

What we hope to achieve

How are we doing this?

Introducing Sharon Colpman, the Make it Lady

Sharon Colpman is a first class Chemistry graduate. She has a teaching qualification and has spent several years teaching science at secondary level. In recent years she became the Secondary Education Manager at a large science centre in the south of England. After developing the idea for Make it Science she became a freelancer and started up the company.
She is constantly searching for new approaches to science teaching and communication. Her passion for the hands-on approach to science and her artistic abilities has led her to combine art with science.
“Children love to junk model and make things that they can take home so I have developed some easy to create science toys with easy to use materials.”
