The Make it Science mission is to take complex science topics and turn them into shows and workshops that are accessible, interactive, creative and fun.
Repetition is a very important part of learning. A good percentage of the science demonstrations carried out during a Make it Science show can be repeated at home or in the classroom using little or no scientific equipment. Taking science out of the laboratory and into real life, the topics covered are broken down into manageable chunks. Science is cleverly linked with creativity in the many Make it Science workshops, which involve a show and a make and take activity. Make it Science audiences are of all ages from nursery to the third age. Workshops and shows can be adapted for any situation. Bespoke shows are available on request with one month’s prior notice.

New for 2008
The Wacky Water Show.
After its successful airing at the Hampshire Water Festival in 2007 Make it Science is now offering this topic as both a show and a workshop.
Show Content:
Water, water everywhere but how much can we drink? This and many more wet questions will be answered by the Make it Lady in this interactive science show. You might get to be a drip in the water cycle or join the molecular theatre and have a gas. One minute you will be hot, the next you will be cold as we explore what happens when the heat is on. Ways of saving water will be discussed, surface tension will be dispelled and the history of the Super-Soaker is bound to make you a little damp but never fear the naughty squirty bottle will sort out any bad behaviour. Follow the ‘Science shows’ link for more information.
Workshop Content:
A shortened version of the above show will be followed by the construction of an air powered boat. Added show content will cover the forces and motion involved in powering this type of junk model boat. Follow the ‘workshops’ link for more information.
