HTML Screensaver icon HTML Screensaver

The universal screen saver.

Use any web page, HTML file, Shockwave Flash animation, PDF file, JPEG image, or any other file type supported by Internet Explorer as a screen saver.

If you have a permanent internet connection, you could choose your favourite news or financial web site so that you have the latest headlines or share prices when you return to your desk.

Organisations could use it so that idle PCs display your intranet site, or even a PowerPoint presentation of your latest news or products.

New in this version: When the screen saver is running, if you press the Caps Lock key the screen saver will stay active. This allows you to click on hyperlinks, for example. When you want to deactivate the screen saver, press the Caps Lock key again and then move the mouse or press any other keyboard key.

Requires Internet Explorer version 4 or later. Shockwave, Flash, PDF, SVG and other content types may require Internet Explorer to have the correct plug-ins installed. HTML5-based content requires Internet Explorer version 9; or if you have Internet Explorer version 6, 7 or 8 you could try Google Chrome Frame.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

How can I display an item without the scrollbar and/or the border?

If you are displaying an HTML page that you can edit, add the following attributes to the <body> tag:

scroll="no" style="border:none"

There is a workaround to display other items without the scrollbar and border. Create a new HTML file and paste in the following text:

<html>
<frameset style="border:none">
<frame scrolling="no" src="what_to_display">
</frame>
</frameset>
</html>

Replace what_to_display with the URL or filename of the item that you want to display and save the file. Then configure HTML Screensaver to open this HTML file.

That sounds a bit complicated. Can't you make it easier?

Options to hide the scrollbar and border will be available in the next version.
