Have you ever wished you could mix like one of the big-name DJs? Would you like to learn some of the mixing skills that you hear in your favourite clubs?

I offer one-to-one DJ and sound-production tuition, an ideal introductory course for beginners or inexperienced DJs to develop their skills.

The courses cover the essential first steps in DJ technique; from the set-up and maintenance of equipment, through beat-matching and basic mix techniques, to scratching skills. A perfect opportunity to brush up on general technique, or isolate specific areas for development.

You will learn on the latest and industry standard equipment, such as Pioneer CDJ1000mk2 CD Decks, Technics SL1210s, Pioneer DJM600 mixer. All the necessary DJ equipment is provided for you to use, including records (or bring your favourites and build a killer set.)

What You Will Learn:

• Beat Mixing and Matching (how to keep two records playing in time)
  
• Understanding beats, bars and phrases.
  
• Understanding EQ and Frequencies, and how to use them in the mix.
  
• Music structure, arrangement and mixing points; including cueing, manual adjustment, using the pitch adjustment fader.
  
• Loop construction - Understanding beats, grooves, and rhythms.
  
• A broad range of basic scratch techniques and other simple combinations.
  
• Mixing music styles to create your own unique DJ sound.
  
• How to construct and operate DJ equipment.
  
• Ear Training, Record cueing, Reading vinyl grooves and patterns.
