I have just completed an MA in ceramics which is my primary medium. I love the scope clay offers for self expression. However, since the concepts behind my work are of primary importance, any medium may be incorporated if the piece calls for it. Most of my work is autobiographical and all is based on a desire to communicate with the viewer ideas which I feel passionate about. The aim is to achieve a synthesis between form and concept to produce work which speaks for me and hopefully for those viewers with similar concerns. To this end the titles are important and , in particular the interaction between title and piece which sometimes gives rise to humour. However there is also room for personal interpretation so that the viewer can make my work her/his own.
