Canterbury Christ Church University College offers a wide range of undergraduate,
postgraduate degree, diploma and professional courses. Its student population
numbers well over 12,000, including many mature and part-time students,
enrolled in four main subject areas: Business and Science, Education, Health,
Arts and Humanities. The teacher training and nursing programmes at Christ Church have long enjoyed an enviable
reputation, and the University College prides itself on academic excellence
in all areas of its teaching. Research, too, has been officially recognised
as outstanding in several areas, among them Education (including Language
Studies), History, Music and Theology. The Department of Media offers students
some of the best teaching and practical experience in its television, film
and radio courses, and the Department of Music attracts talented students
from all over the UK and from overseas. The International
Office provides foreign students with an extensive range of English Language
courses. Canterbury Christ Church University College offers all this and much more from its
attractive main campus, just a few minutes walk from Canterbury's historic cathedral and city centre.
In addition, a new campus was opened in 2000 at Thanet in east Kent. In west Kent, at Tunbridge Wells, is our third
campus, Salomons. Often referred to familiarly as Christchurch, the correct spelling of the University College name is not Christchurch but Christ Church.
