A campaign is getting underway aimed at saving Millport Old Pier following confirmation by Strathclyde Regional Council that they are not prepared to allocate funds for its repair.

On Saturday 1 September, members of the Sutton Hoo Society re-introduced a ferry service across the tidal River Deben from Woodbridge to a point near the Saxon burial sites.

Sealink have sold ST GEORGE to Psatha Navigation Co, Nicosia for use from Cyprus and the eastern Mediterranean, whilst Townsend Thoresen have sold FREE ENTERPRISE III to Mira Shipping Group for use from Valetta.

MEDWAY QUEEN sank at her berth on the River Medway during the summer. She was subsequently refloated.
