Monday 7 September 2009 WAVERLEY 50th Anniversary Celebration Cruise
The PSPS Wessex Branch are arranging a special 50th Anniversary Celebration Cruise aboard WAVERLEY. On 7 September the padd;le Steamer will make its first public sailing from Poole Quay for 23 years. Cruise leaves Poole Quay at 12:00 (returns 20:30), Bournemouth at 13:00 (returns 19:30), Yarmouth at 14:30 (returns 18:00) for a cruise to Southampton Docks. Also evening cruise (with coach return) from Southampton at 16:15.
Full cruise £32 with shorter cruise options and single tickets also available. Coach connections will operate from Weymouth, the Bristol Channel, Worthing, Littlehampton, Bognor and Chichester. Tuesday 22 September 2009 Birmingham Canal Navigations Cruise
The CCA are arranging a special six-hour cruise on the Birmingham Canal Navigations pn 22 September. The EUPHRATES PACKET will leave Birmingham's Gas Street Basin at 11:00 and sail north via the New Main Line to Albion Junction then lock up via the Gower Branch to the Old Main Line and then return via the Soho and Ickneild Port loops returning to the gas St Basis at 17:00.

Saturday 3 October 2009 Chichester Harbour Cruise
A special cruise on Chichester Harbour Water Tours' WINGATE III (built 1975, 52 passengers) from Itchenor (depart 14:30, returns 17:30) upstream to view Salterns Lock, then around the south of Thorney Island via the Chichester and Emsworth Channels, cruising as far north as the eastern end of New Cut, before turning back.
Bookings (enclosing SAE, cheque for £20 made payable to Jeff Vinter, and an e-mail address if available) to Jeff Vinter, 1 Victoria Road, Chichester, West Sussex, PO19 7HY. For the more energetic, as part of the day’s events, a party of Rail Ramblers are walking the nine miles from Chichester Canal Basin (depart 10:45) via Bridham to Itchenor for a pub lunch at The Ship Inn at 13:00, to which all participants are welcome. Saturday 12 December2009 Christmas Cruise to the Avon Gorge
A special Christmas cruise from Bristol through Bristol City Docks and Cumberland Basin Locks into the Avon Gorge, aboard the BAGHEERA. The cruise departs from the S S Great Britain car park at 11:15 and Temple Quay (adjacent to Temple Meads Station) at 11:30, returing to Princes Wharf by 14:30. On arrival at Princess Wharf, passengers are invited aboard BALMORAL for the PSPS Bristol Channel Branch Christmas Social – cost £2 each payable on the day, to cover cost of mince pies, coffee or tea. Princes Wharf is 10 minutes walk from the S S Great Britain. BAGHEERA is a fully glass-enclosed and heated vessel.
Tickets cost £20, including morning tea or coffee and cold buffet lunch. Tickets available from Mr P J Murrell, 2 Rockleaze Court, Herbert Road, Clevedon, BS21 7ND – please make cheques payable to P J Murrell and enclose SAE. All profits will be donated equally between PSPS and CCA.
