The instructor, Mark Peters, originally learn the sets from his teacher Master Wu Chiang Hsing in Batu Pahat, Malaysia. Tai Chi-Chi Kung, (Shibashi) is a series of energy enhancing exercises that co-ordinate movement with breathing and concentration. They are beneficial for people of any age, in China it is practised in the parks, where the young and elderly practise and enjoy spending time together.
Loosely based on Tai Chi Chuan it was developed by Professor Lin Hou-Sheng in
1979. Professor Lin is a renowned Qigong Master, scientist and Master Healer. He
recognised the health benefits of Tai Chi Chuan and developed eighteen exercises
that are easy to learn and practise. This offers many of the benefits of Tai Chi
but has the advantage that it can be learned in a relatively short time. What appears flowing and effortless on the outside is a result of cultivating deep relaxation on the inside, we can learn to move in a way that unifies the whole of the system in a relaxed, focused and mindful way. Unlike most forms of exercise that work on the larger muscle groups and can
often subject the body to stress, Tai Chi-Chi Kung movements encourage the
stretching and stimulation of the smaller muscles and ligaments. The gentle
stretching and releasing of the movements, combined with deep, relaxed breathing
encourage tensions held deep in the body's tissues to soften and release. What Will I learn? Over this two day course, you will learn both the 1st and 2nd sets. The 3rd day, one month later, is designed to refresh and refine your understanding on this highly effective system. Instructional DVD's will be available. e-mail for more details and to book: e-mail the peaceful warrior |
