This is not really a childrens song, although it has been sung by the children at Dovecot Sunday School. It was written in the style of a traditional Christmas carol.
Come ye, behold, come to
Bethlehem,
Come all ye shepherds, leave your fold,
And see God's infant Lamb.
Hear the angel voice! Oh harken to the word!
For unto you is born this day a Saviour, Christ the Lord.
Come ye, come ye, come behold Him, Christ the Lord.
Come ye, behold, see this
wondrous birth,
See God's redemptive plan unfold,
The Saviour born on earth.
God's eternal Son, now born of David's seed;
Though fully God, yet fully man - a mystery indeed!
Come ye, come ye, come behold Him, Christ the Lord.
Come ye, behold Him who
made the skies.
Observe how, as the angel told,
In swaddling clothes He lies.
See the infant hands which, in the course of time,
Reached out to serve the needs of man, and finally to die.
Come ye, come ye, come behold Him, Christ the Lord.
