Thank you for putting your bible books and sword drills online -- they are hard to find! All of us teachers remembered learning the books of the bible, and used various songs/rhymes, but none could remember how we did it. This is a great resource.

Many thanks for all your ideas. As Steve will know I used the Christmas Window idea at our Carol Service last year and it was a great success. I also had the details and used the music for the story of Nebucadnezzar at our July Anniversary service and this was one of the best we have ever done - I'm talking lots of years at that!
I am going to make another request for Christmas songs and am extremely grateful to Steve and Dovecote.
God Bless you all

First Christian Church of Melbourne (Disciples of Christ) Melbourne, Florida USA
I came upon your site when I was looking for a song that could be sung during our Christmas play "The Faces of the Nativity." The angel Gabriel has just introduced himself and is about to introduce Mary. I was looking for a song that sings about Gabriel's announcement - not Mary's response. The one your children sing on your site called "Gabriel" is perfect. I wonder if you could email me the sheet music and lyrics? I would really appreciate it. Thank you very much. Your website is wonderful.
Yours in Christ

I have been looking for material for our family services. I came across your website and used the "What comes out of your mouth". The kids loved it, especially when I pulled out a slug from my box. The adults enjoyed it too. I have read through your page - do you have any more. Thank you soooo much.

I loved the short talks and hope to use some of them with the women's Bible study here. They're good for everyone to be able to remember the lesson. Thanks!

I took a Halloween symbol to make it Christian... the jack-o-lantern. We are all like pumpkins. It you cut open a pumpkin, it is filled with stringy, slimy, gooey pulp = our sin. But God takes us and cleans out the sin and changes our mourning to dancing (puts a new face on us) then fills us with His Spirit which shines out (a candle lit up from inside). It was a great success. You may work up the idea and share it with others.

Love your website . How nice that you're not charging to view all these lovely and inspirational ideas for childrens ministry. I have some great ideas for our children which I hope to be putting into practic. I have to translate them into French since ours is a Quebecois church and few members understand English. But the shadow play ideas look great. I especially like the fact that there is so much explanation, instruction and visual aids on it. Hope to use it for Christmas. God Bless you all.

I have designed a sticker book, with a memory verse for each letter of the alphabet. Each week, the children who have learned the verse will get a coloured sticker with the verse on to cover the grey version in their book. I'll let you know how it is received.

Our Junior Church is flagging due to not enough teachers and as a former leader of many years this saddens me. We members of the congregation have a responsibility to help the current leaders, but need simple, fun things to do on the weeks when we are 'minding the shop' as none of us has the time to prepare lessons, but want the children to enjoy what they do with us. Some people would help but feel they lack the ability. Your site is lovely, so clearly explained, and will be a great asset, I'm sure. Thank you and God bless you all.

I'm pleased to have found your website - and will be using one of your talk ideas for Sunday School tomorrow.

Sharing ideas ... read any suitable Bible stoy and let the kids organise the acting out of it. Older kids are directors, younger ones actors. For a big group, subdivide and give each 15 mins to devise their play and then all the groups watch each other's short act. The Good Samaritan is an appealing first one to try.
