Magnetic
Letters Quiz
For this quiz you will need
two magnetic boards (you can use small sheets of thin steel - painted, enameled,
or covered with adhesive plastic), and two identical sets of magnetic letters.
The letters can be of the plastic type obtainable from shops which supply toys
for young children. Alternatively you can make your own, which has the advantage
that they can be bigger and more colourful. In our case we used squares of expanded
polystyrene (7cm x 7cm x 2cm) which we covered with fluorescent paper and put
black letters on the front using indian ink, We then covered them with adhesive
transparent film and put two strips of magnetic tape on the back.
The answers to the quiz
questions should be words of up to about eight letters. You don't need a full
alphabet or duplicated letters - you can devise many questions having answers
that can be spelled with less than twenty different letters.
