The window Noah opened wide,
And let a raven go,
Which, while the earth was drying out,
Kept flying to and fro.
So Noah also sent a dove,
To find out where the water level stood.
Fly, fly, little dove,
Tell me what do you see from way above?
Has the earth begun to dry?
Fly, little dove, fly.

The dove could find no resting place,
And very soon returned.
The waters still were very deep,
And covered all the earth.
So Noah waited seven days more,
Then sent the dove again out to explore.
Fly, fly, little dove,
Tell me what do you see from way above?
Has the earth begun to dry?
Fly, little dove, fly.

The dove returned at evening time;
A leaf was in its beak.
The tree tops now were showing through -
Noah waited one more week.
He sent the dove out as before,
Which found a home and so returned no more.
Fly, fly, little dove,
Now I know what you see from way above
Now the earth is almost dry,
Fly, little dove fly,
Fly, little dove, fly.
