Fish and Tips-
towards a more sustainable fish menu
30th March 2007 The Boardroom, Porthtowan
An event for businesses who wanted to know more about sustainability and the fish on their menus
The global picture was presented by Jenny Christie, Marine Projects Co-ordinator for Cornwall County Council, who has experience of international fisheries including operating in the South Atlantic. Nathan de Rosarieux of Seafood Cornwall gave the local picture and Heather Squires of Invest in Fish reported on the progress of this project in the South West.
Two personal experiences of the issues were presented by Cornwall Sustainable Tourism Project (CoaST) champions – local ambassadorial businesses who are putting sustainability into action with their own teams, suppliers and customers. Jemma Roberts of CoaST set these experiences in the more general context of sustainable tourism and the Green Tourism Business Scheme
The CoaST champions were:
Andrew Biss of the Primrose Valley Hotel near St Ives
Peter Frazer of Harbour Lights Fish and Chip restaurant in Falmouth
