A master-class for enlightened businesses on using your role to promote awareness of climate change and peak oil
23rd February 2007 Cornwall College, Newquay
This half-day master-class was designed for businesses who want to make a difference. They were able to find out what the issues are, how other businesses have made a difference and how they could get involved.
The master-class was led by Nathan Oxley, of Futerra, London-based specialists in creative and strategic development for sustainable development.
On hand were three Cornwall Sustainable Tourism project (CoaST) champions – local ambassadorial businesses who are putting sustainability into action with their own teams, large and small, their suppliers and their customers.
The CoaST champions were:
Matt Hocking, graphic designer (Leap Media) based in St Austell
Kate Weaving, leader of the Green Team in one of Cornwall’s leading, multiple-award winning hotels, the Bedruthan Steps Hotel in Mawgan Porth
Margaret Jordan, owner of a small but perfectly formed and sustainably run Eden B&B, Portmellon near Mevagissey
The master-class also featured a short, but challenging quiz. Can you beat the top score of the day (7/10)?
