Directory Synchronisation Manager
The Directory Synchronisation Manager is a Windows software application that allows you to synchronise any number of paired directories. For example you may wish to synch a directory on your fixed disk on one machine with a directory on an external USB hard drive. In turn you might wish to synchronise this directory with one on a different machine. If so then DirSynch is the kiddy for you Add as many pairings as you wish, select a pair and then run a synchronisation query on it. If the directories are out of synch a task list will be populated and you may commit the changes to disk. It works on the principle that one directory is dominant, any files or sub-directories found on it but not found on the sub-dominant directory will be marked for copy to the sub-dominant directory. Any files or sub-directories found on the sub-dominant directory and not on the dominant will be marked for deletion. When files are found on both then the version bearing the latest date/time stamp will be marked to overwrite the older one. Any of these tasks can be reversed or removed from the task list..
