Friday 30th October 8pm ~ 10pm
Saturday 31st October 10am ~ 9pm
Sunday 1st November 10am ~ 4pm
Samhain, the Celtic New Year is traditionally a time when we remember and honour our ancestors and connect with those that have gone before. In rhythm with the seasons we will take the opportunity for releasing anything what we carry from our ancestors that we no longer need.
Celebrating the gifts that we embody from our ancestors we can embrace healing and dance towards becoming who we truly are.
"If you can't get rid of the family skeleton you may as well make it dance" George Bernard Shaw
On our journey we will use writing and poetry, art materials as well as musical instruments and voice, movement and dance.
We will use Dances of Universal Peace which are part of the timeless tradition of using sacred phrases, sounds of power and meditative movement, body prayer (www.dancesofuniversalpeace.org.uk)
We will use Soulwork as developed by Moineddin Carl Jablonski. Rooted in Kahuna wisdom and the wisdom of Sufi mystics Soulwork can guide us to a place between the "two worlds" (an allusion to Jelalauddin Rumi, crossing the threshold and entering the place where two worlds meet as well as this time of Samhain when it is said that the veils between the worlds are thinnest.) This can help us to safely access the meeting place between the worlds of sleeping and waking, the conscious and unconscious, finding the inner guidance and wisdom that lives within us all.
The weekend will be led by Anne Zahira Noor Gill together with Sandra Sunfire. Anne Zahira Noor who is joining us from Ireland , is an experienced psychotherapist as well as a teacher of Dances of Universal Peace. Her personal and professional journey brought her into contact with Soulwork of which she is also a practitioner. She says of herself "I am being called on in my life just now to do more deep work on generational healing"
Sandra Sunfire is a body centred psychotherapist who has followed the thread of breath, sound and body into the Dances of Universal Peace and other spiritual practices. Through a profound Heart space and a quiet, unassuming nature, she effortlessly provides a safe and grounded haven and an opportunity for deep healing for all who attend the ongoing circle at Derwenlas Hall and at the other events she has focused over the years.
