GETTING HOLD OF TICKETS

FOR PLAYS AT THE

CITY THEATRE

Quite the best way of getting tickets for DDS productions (at the City Theatre) is to become a member of the Society! (See the Membership button on our Home Page).

As you will see from the Membership page, becoming a mailing list member will entitle you to a reduced-price advance booking form for every production!

Mailing List Membership costs only £3.50 per year, and serves the valuable function of helping you keep track of our productions, and when they are on.

After all advance booking tickets have been allocated, the remaining tickets are handed over to the TOURIST INFORMATION OFFICE (in the Gala Theatre foyer, Millennium Place), two weeks before the week of the play, where they are sold at the full price.

At present most of our productions are very often FULLY BOOKED IN ADVANCE, so that it is unusual for more than a handful of tickets ever to be available at the Tourist Information Office.

ADVANCE BOOKING NOTICE TO MEMBERS

After consultation with theTourist Information Office, DDS members should note the following arrangements for advance bookings.  If your requirements change after buying Advance Booking tickets, you will need to:

    1) Buy new tickets (if available) at the Tourist Office

    2) Send unwanted tickets back to Lynn Jordison by the Friday prior to the week of the play, when every effort
will be made to re-sell the tickets.  If resold, thec money will be refunded.

Members should note that the Tourist Office will no longer be able to accommodate returns or changes to seating requirements.  The Tourist Office is only involved with new ticket sales.  This is due to a new system operating within the Touist office.  In the past they have been able to provide this service, but unfortunately this is no longer possible.

TICKET PRICE INCREASE

Unfortunately, owing to the recent inflationary effects of the financial situation, we are unable to hold our ticket prices at their current level any longer:  these have remained at their current level since 2006, but regrettably must be increased to £6 from February 2009.
