Sorry ESAG is on hold at the moment

Welcome

Do you live in Eastbourne and suffer from shyness and social anxiety? Do you find it difficult to meet new people and make friends? If you do then we are in the same boat!

My name is Jenny and I would like to set up a support group for people like myself as I have been unable to find one locally. But first I need people to join so I am using this website to see if there is any interest.

The aim of the group is to get local people who suffer from social anxiety in touch with each other so we can make new friends and get support from people with similar problems. It would be good to arrange regular meetups so we have a chance to get out and socialise and hopefully gain more confidence and feel less isolated.

So if you live in the Eastbourne area and feel you could benefit from a group like this then please contact me to say you would be interested and I will add you to my list of members (grand total of  one at the moment!) and keep you informed of all that is happening within the group. Please feel free to give suggestions for the website, meetup ideas and anything else that you'd like the group to offer.

RECENT UPDATES

JUNE 2008   I have added a  forum to the site run by myself and fellow member Ben where you can post messages. I hope to add various topics on there soon so keep looking and feel free to join in.

JUNE 2008 There is now a chat room on the site! I admit I've never been a fan of chat rooms but I thought it might be a good way for members to get to know each other. If you feel nervous about joining in remember that myself and most other members will feel the same! To Login, type in a username and you can type in a few words about yourself in the profile box if you want to (this profile isn't saved so will need typing in each login, sorry!) but ignore the password box. Then enter the chat room and see who's there. If the chat room doesn't appear in your browser then you may need to download Java, click here to do so. If you have any problems with the chat room or with any members using it then please contact me straight away.

PLEASE NOTE: apart from my long experience of SA and depression I have no other qualifications so cannot offer any in depth advice or therapy.
I just want to provide a social resource for SA sufferers to meet others in a relaxed setting.
