HARRISON MEMORIAL TROPHY 2005

One of East Cheshire's younger players, Ben Topper, has played for the "A"-team for several seasons. In recognition of his youth and talent, the Stockport Chess League awarded him the Harrison Memorial Trophy for the season 2004-2005. In the photograph below, Ben is receiving the trophy from a fellow team member, Tudor Rickards, because it had not been available to present to Ben at the Stockport League's Annual Fixtures Meeting in October.

CHARNLEY KNOCKOUT COMPETITION, CUP FINAL 2005

East Cheshire progressed to the Final of the Charnley Cup Knockout Competition in 2004 - 2005. Below are some photos of the event, which was played on 14th April 2005 at Stockport chess club. Stockport beat us 6 - 0, but each game was hard fought and John Reed on top board only lost in the last few minutes of the rapidplay finish.
