of snow coverings (for the Peterlee area that is).

The Ged Traynor Memorial Walk - Castle Eden Dene Lodge to the coast, south to
Crimdon dene and returning to the Dene Lodge via the Haswell to Hart Walkway
(around 12 miles). Ged was an employee of Easington District Council and
one of those killed in the Southall rail crash in September 1997 while on
council business. Family and friends have taken part in a memorial walk
each year since then. Way markers cast in bronze mark out the first
"contemplative" mile of the walk through Castle Eden Dene.

A ride across to Coniston in the lake district - Wednesday 1 November
2006, a crisp clear day (apologies to lakelandcam.com lovers for my
lack of local knowledge, all I know is that the whole area is spectacular and
the colours at this time of year especially are superb!)
