The Ged Traynor Memorial Walk - Castle Eden Dene Lodge to the coast, south to Crimdon dene and returning to the Dene Lodge via the Haswell to Hart Walkway (around 12 miles). Ged was an employee of Easington District Council and one of those killed in the Southall rail crash in September 1997 while on council business. Family and friends have taken part in a memorial walk each year since then. Way markers cast in bronze mark out the first "contemplative" mile of the walk through Castle Eden Dene.
