The events were well attended & some old & new members reunited. I was pleased to be voted in as only the 3rd Secretary in 29 years. Jim Ure was voted onto the committee Our next association event of 2008 is a visit to the National Arboretum at Alrewas, Staffordshire on Saturday 27th September. Standard bearers, local RNA & Sea Cadets from TS Bulwark (Buxton) & TS Centaur (Dudley) will be present. Our President, Vice-Admiral Sir Patrick Symons will be unveiling a new plinth at the association tree, which will be re-dedicated. All are welcome to attend. Next year, 2009, is the 30th anniversary of our original association. The AGM unanimously agreed that the venue will be Sand Bay Holiday Village, Kewstoke, Weston-super-Mare, Somerset. This is a weekend package for 3 night’s half-board, (bed & breakfast & evening meal), & 3 night’s entertainment. Our Gala Dinner on the Saturday evening is included. I will also be arranging a couple of local coach tours etc. The dates for this weekend are 29/30/31 May 2009. The price of £99 per person for this time of the year is excellent & it is bound to prove popular. If you are interested please let me know & I will forward details.
