ABOUT SAND BAY HOLIDAY VILLAGE

The Holiday village is one of the former Pontins camp sites which has chalets as accommodation, all on ground level. The chalets have basic furnishing, comprising, single, double & twin rooms. All have en suite bath or showers. There are 300 individually furnished single-storey bedrooms with a large free parking area

NB - Hair dryers are hired from Sand Bay reception.

Please note that there will be many other holidaymakers at Sand Bay when we are there. It is a very popular venue all year round & the national winner of the 2008 Group Travel Award for the industry.

Meal times are as follows:

Breakfast is served at 0900 hours.

Dinner is served at 1800 hours

Again, please note that everyone eats prompt at the same time & it’s a very efficient service. The association members & guests will dine at allocated tables, together.

Our Gala Dinner on the Saturday night will commence around 1915 hours. We have to vacate the dining room shortly after 2100 hours so the staff can prepare for Sunday breakfast. Hopefully that should give us enough time for dinner, a raffle draw & speeches etc.

I have provisionally booked a 50 seater coach for a trip on the Sunday. The plan is to leave Sand Bay at 1015 & travel through Cheddar Gorge with a short stop at Cheddar. We will then go to Clarks Village in Street where there are around 90 shopping outlets & a modern British Legion Club awaiting our arrival. On the way back to Sand Bay we will pay a short visit to a Cider Farm. Thus, because of the limited amount of seats, it has to be a first-come first–served basis..The trip will be £5 per person. This covers the exact cost of the coach. Apologies in advance if you are disappointed.

Please get in touch if you are interested in the trip. Payment will be taken over the weekend.

The Weekend Entertainment

ALL OUR YESTERDAYS on Friday May 29th -Sunday May 31st 2009 inclusive at Sand Bay Holiday Village Kewstoke Nr Weston Super Mare. This is another version of the superb nostalgia show featuring The George Thorby Big Band playing the music of Glenn Miller and other great bands of yesteryear. Whilst mainly the 1940's and earlier this is a show with a difference because it features 50's hit maker Craig Douglas with musical arrangements all adapted to suit a Glenn Miller style band. Also appearing will be TV & Cabaret Star Maggie Moone. There are over 3 and a half hours entertainment every night plus organised events by the entertainment team during the day. There will also be an Outdoor Model Aircraft Display (weather permitting).
