The third running of the Blyth Valley 10k took place on April 29th. Following last year's disappointing turnout, the large entry of 420 was very welcome; in fact this was the largest since 1998. The race is run from Blyth Quayside to Seaton Sluice and back, along public footpaths and cycle ways. The course is officially ratified; it's very flat and provides an excellent chance of fast times. In 2005 nearly 300 people turned out to participate in the event, and were rewarded with excellent race conditions. We have had some great feedback from runners too.

Athletes compete in individual age categories. For example a Male over 50 will not qualify for over 40 and over 45 category awards.

It was the biggest ten miler in the North-East...

The 23rd (and last) running of this race over 10 miles was on April 25th 2004
The Blyth Valley Ten was a certified accurate ten mile road race starting at Concordia Leisure Centre, Cramlington, and finishing at Blyth Sports Centre, via Seaton Delaval and Seaton Sluice.  The race was held annually from 1982, and in 2004 attracted almost 350 entries. 

The Blyth Valley Ten was organised by Blyth Running Club.
