Links 10k Race
Organised by the Club, the Links 10k is held along the Links Road through Seaton Sluice, around the top of the Delaval Arms pub, and back along the Links Road to the finish. This is an annual event, where we invite runners from several local clubs to take part. They in turn return the compliment by inviting our members to their own similar events during the year. A buffet is provided by our members, free to our guests who all assemble in a local club afterwards to have a drink to see the prizes being presented, and to complain about injuries and so on.
This year's race, on Tuesday August 31st was contested by 184 runners and was won by NSP's Robert Walker in 33:22, some 30 seconds in front of Morpeth's Nathan Shrubb in second and NSP's Tom Brannon in third close behind.
First back for Blyth was Robbie Barkley in 12th, first Blyth Lady was Anne Potts. The Brian Stringfellow award, for the first BRC veteran, was won by Andy Brown.
Thanks to all who took part, and to those who helped. We'll hopefully see you all again next year.
