CHAPTER 3: GLORY AND SPLENDOUR
Glory and splendour.
The Return of the King, The Field of Cormallen: “And when Sam heard that he laughed aloud for sheer delight, and he stood up and cried: ‘O great glory and splendour! All my wishes have come true!’ And then he wept.”

Mrs. Cotton’s baking was an irresistible draw to young growing hobbits who had been out playing by the Bywater Pool.
In The Return of the King, Mount Doom: “He felt the cool mud about his toes as he paddled in the Pool at Bywater with Jolly Cotton and Tom and Nibs, and their sister Rosie.”

‘I don’t know what you said to Rosie,’ said her twin...
In Return of the King, Appendix C Rosie and Jolly are shown as both being born in 1384. The most likely explanation is that they were twins.
