Paintings of sunsets are one of Edward McNaught-Davis’ passions as there are so many
different colours to see. Sunset pictures exist in different compositions ranging
from beach sunsets to sunset ocean paintings. Edward enjoys painting them all and
in all types of medium to suit the mood. Acrylics, Oils, Watercolours (watercolor),
pastel and pen and ink have all been used by Edward McNaught-Davis. “Renaissance
Sunset” was an inspired painting as well as “Sunset over Preseli”. A sunset is the
closing show of the day put on by nature and free for all to see. A sunset is so
much more than a mass of colours; look at the depth of light and the changing density
of sky colour from the horizon right up to over your head. Be sure to watch a new
show tomorrow. “Ffynnonddewi Sunset” was achieved by using mixed media techniques
of acrylics coupled with ink. The “Pembs Sunset” was created with pure artist’s quality
oil pastel on a card ground. “Dusk at White Sands” was achieved with water soluble
oil paints on stretched canvas. These types of oils are indistinguishable from traditional
oils. Their only real difference is that they can be thinned with water instead of
turpentine. Other sunset paintings by Edward McNaught-Davis are shown on landscapes,
seascapes, woodlands, rivers and streams, and waterfalls. The Site Map shows all
other areas of this web site on one page for your convenience. If you are interested

are given under commissions or you could contact him directly by email to discuss
your requirements.
Some of Edward’s latest paintings are shown under the What’s New? section of this
site. Edward McNaught-Davis also paints sunrise pictures as well as paintings of
sunsets. His favourites are certainly beach sunsets and gorgeously coloured sunset
ocean paintings the latter of which give rise to undisturbed freedom and escapism.
