Links
to useful information...
|
| This is our main page of links which we hope will be useful in planning your trip to the Lake District. They are organised into subject areas. |
| Weather: |
| Probably the most useful set of websites are the Met. Office website, the BBC weather pages for current weather, 30 day and 90 day outlook forecasts. |
| What's on?: |
| There are so many websites with information that it can be difficult to know where to go. Here are a selection of sites which we have found useful and we hope that you do too. The Lake District National Park website give details of their own events (also a good weather page). Also, the Cumbria Tourist Board have a good site with an events search facility. We are also currently building an events list of our own which, in time we hope will be helpful (local Theatre, outdoor events, etc.). Please click here to see the list for this year in DATE ORDER or click here to see it in EVENT CATEGORY and DATE order. |
| Getting here and getting about once here: |

If you are not travelling by car you may wish to use public transport or your journey may include a flight to the UK or from another part of the UK. Rail travel sites include Virgin Trains and Arriva North West. A good coach site is National Express (they have a direct service from London to Whitehaven and more frequent indirect services via Carlisle). A good general timetable site shows bus, train and flight information. |
