What a fantastic spell of weather we have been having in mid-May! It is definitely a good time to be doing Wainwright's Coast to Coast long-distance walk at the moment. In fact, May is often one of the best months for doing this. At this time of year the gorse flowers are still bright yellow while the wild bluebells are (as you can see on the right) giving a blue tint to the hillsides. All the plants in our garden seem to have sprung into life.
