Strathbrora & company bulk carrier Fernie at fitting out berth Tamano, Japan. Feb. 1967.

The name "Tamano" was derived from the two neighbouring towns of Tama and Uno in the prefecture of Okayama to the west of the main island of Honshu, a short ferry ride across the Inland Sea to the city of Takamatsu on the smallest of the Japanese islands, Shikoku. It was both a pleasure and an adventure to live ashore in Japan in those days!
