Views of the local coastline.

Menorca is the most easterly of the three  Balearic Islands , the island has been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site for its outstanding natural beauty.

The island is 30 miles by 15 with many beautiful beaches, the majority of which are unspoiled by development. The two main towns are Ciudadella in the west and Mahon, the capital in the east. Mahon is the largest natural harbour in the northern hemisphere, has narrow streets, fascinating architecture and attractive squares and great shopping. The waterfront is a magnet for boat-gazing and has many bars and restaurants, the glass-bottomed boat trip may be a tourist-trap but should not be missed for an introduction to this fascinating harbour with all its inlets, forts and resorts such as Es Castell.

Mesquida, Cala Llonga, and Mahon harbour from the air.

The island has great facilities for golf, sailing, diving, motor yachts, dinghy-sailing, water-skiing, banana-riding and much more for young and old alike. There is even a thriving cricket-club, hidden in the lanes at Biniparell on the south side of the airport.

The villa is situated in Cala Llonga which is a quiet residential area, much sought after because of its beautiful views across the harbour to Mahon and only 5-10 minutes from the unspoilt sandy beach at Mesquida. On the way to the beach there is an isolated restaurant which has one of the most spectacular cliff top views of the Mediterranean. Cala Llonga has several pontoons, where boats can be chartered or you may just want to wander down to watch the locals fishing.
