Dear CWE,
I have a lot of Vinyl LP records from my youth that I would like to copy onto CD
before I scratch them to death. Apart from a CD Re-Writer that I already have, what
other equipment do I need?
Thanks in advance,
Dave
answer:
It's very easy to do. All you need is a cable to connect the line out from your
amplifier to your line in on your sound card. Adaptec Easy CD Creator comes with
Spin Doctor, which takes out clicks etc from records. You have to record it as a
WAV file and then save it as a CD. Do be aware that the quality isn't going to be the
same as actually buying the recording on CD.
You will need a decent sound card and possibly a pre amp from the deck to the line-in.
Then convert to WAV and then burn them as 'red book' audio CD.
