The Kimpton Club was established by Sensei Sarah Fullarton who
wanted to teach the people of Kimpton, Whitwell, St Pauls Warden, Codicote and
surrounding areas, due to her moving into the area.
Karate classes are
held in Kimpton Memorial Hall (Hall Lane) every Wednesday at 6pm. The hall is a
full sized badminton court with plenty of room for moving about.
There
are always 2 instructors per lesson and occasonally assistant instructors may
come down to help teach. These assistants are higher grade students (brown belt
and above) from the Baldock Karate club, who need to gain teaching hours for
their qualifications and blackbelts. The assistants may not have got a lot of
experience in teaching adults or children but please remember they have trained
for many years and know what they are talking about. They will always be
supervised and over looked by Sensei Sarah.
On most occasions Sensei
Sarah will be joined by Sensei George, who is also a 4th Dan Blackbelt. If at
any time Sensei Sarah is unable to attend then Sempai Alan will help teach the
class, who is a 2nd Dan Blackbelt.
