The
word " Yoga " comes from the Sanskrit root
" Yuj " meaning to join or unite.
It is used to bring a healthy balance to the body,
improving flexibility and therefore a calm mind and more
harmonious approach to daily life.
Yoga helps us cope with the stresses and strains of
daily life. It is not a religion, but a philosophy which
can complement all religions. It approaches every aspect
of life in a very practical and sensible way.
Everyone can practice yoga, even those who are unwell.
However there should be no strain during practice, and
the breath should remain calm.
Practicing the yoga postures ( asana ) will help to
regain or maintain the strength and suppleness of muscles
and joints and also improve the functioning of the body
systems
If you suffer from any heart related
medical conditions, dizziness or wish to practice during
pregnancy then please seek expert advice. |
