The Youth Theatre
provides youngsters of all ages with the opportunity to take part in weekly
drama/workshop sessions, held in the Village Hall. They
present their own performances and also join in with appropriate main
Player's productions, usually in February when we present a pantomime or
musical production. At present the Youth Theatre is "resting". We need a new leader for the group (unpaid!) and would like to hear from any suitable experienced person who would be interested in taking this on. If you are interested please ‘phone Jane (01777 818833) or e-mail: ev.players@tinyonline.co.uk The picture below shows members dressed as pupils at Everton School in 1918, for a production about the history of the village ("All Poor Men") .

"Scafti's Saga"“Scafti’s Saga” was the 2001 Youth Theatre production. Written by Mollie Hall, it tells the story of the early occupation of this area by the Vikings in the 10th Century. Scafti was a Viking who sails across the North Sea, up the Humber, the Trent, the Idle, until, tired of all this sailing he saw the wooded hills to the east of what is now Bawtry and decided to settle, forming the hamlet of Scaftworth. The picture below shows the entire cast on stage participating in the grand finale.
Mother GooseIn February 2003 Youth Theatre members joined the Players to present the traditional Pantomime "Mother Goose". The picture below shows the chorus, made up Youth Theatre members, outside Mother Goose's cottage. More pictures of the production are in our picture gallery.
