TRAVELLING BY CAR



Via Wareham & Corfe Castle From DORCHESTER
Take A352 to WOOL then to WAREHAM
OR
From POOLE
Take A351 to SANDFORD then to WAREHAM.

From WAREHAM
take A351 from to CORFE CASTLE.

Turn left immediately when the castle mound is on your right and under the railway bridge, this road is the A3351 and will bring you to STUDLAND.

Fairfields is the second building on the right as you enter the village.



Via
Sandbanks Chain Ferry
From BOURNEMOUTH
Take B3065 to CANFORD CLIFFS and BRANKSOME, follow signs to SANDBANKS.
OR
From POOLE
Take B3369 to PARKSTONE and LILLIPUT, follow signs to SANDBANKS.

From SANDBANKS
follow the one way system to the ferry landing.
Drive onto the chain ferry which will take you across the mouth of POOLE HARBOUR to SHELL BAY.

From SHELL BAY stay on the main road to STUDLAND and through the village passing Studland Stores on your left.

Fairfields Hotel is 200 metres further along on the left hand side.

THE CHAIN FERRY

The ferry runs every twenty minutes all year round except on Christmas Day and takes approximately 2 minutes to cross from one side to the other.
From the Haven Hotel (north) side the ferry leaves on the hour commencing at 07:00 then at twenty past and twenty to the hour until 23:00 (last crossing).

From the Studland/Shell Bay (south) side, the first crossing is at 07:10 then at half past and ten minutes to the hour until 23:10 (last crossing).

At peak periods this schedule changes and there is a continuous shuttle service.

SOUTH WEST TRAINS TO WAREHAM

It is better to travel to Wareham than to Bournemouth or Poole as this will avoid having to get to and across the ferry. Taxis are available immediately outside Wareham Station and will take fares to Studland.
The journey takes 15 to 20 minutes.
