The Village of Studland

Studland and Brownsea Island belong to the National Trust, take a look at
nationaltrust.org.uk for more information about them.

The chain ferry at the mouth of Poole Harbour is an interesting attraction as much as a practical method of getting across the mouth of Poole Harbour onto the Studland Peninsula. For more information see the
Bournemouth-Swanage Motor Road & Ferry Company website.

Many people visit the area because the South West Coastal Path begins here at South Haven Point, where the chain ferry crosses to Sandbanks, see the South West Coastal Path website.

The County of Dorset - 'Wessex'

Dorset's coastline is very special. The South West Grid for Learning have devoted a whole section of their website to
Dorset & the Sea

A 95 mile stretch of coastline, from Dorset into East Devon, has recently been awarded UNESCO World Heritage Site status. The South West Grid for Learning has also included the Jurassic Coast on their site.

The Dorset Magazine is an informative website. It has good photography and allows access to past articles on everything Dorset.

The Dorset List - provides listings of local suppliers and services. Most interesting for those considering a visit to the county is a 'suggested reading' booklist, weather and sailing forecasts.
